A little about Craig

Award-winning communications and public relations professional; recognized for building community relationships and partnerships. Currently serving as a TV weathercaster. I am storyteller at heart who has used a broadcast news background to build a solid reputation of trust with regional news media outlets in my communications roles. A leader who has drawn upon strong customer service experiences and management training to bring out the best commitments of excellence from team members.

Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) | July 1998-June 2023

Organized all public relations and marketing activities/planning for a public school district consisting of almost 15,000 students and over 2,300 employees. Responsible for media relations, marketing, writing for a variety of purposes, special event planning and execution, building community partnerships in support of student programs. Honored by the Texas School Public Relations Association with their Professional Achievement Award, two-time Bright Idea Award, and named to the Rio Grande Valley Walk of Fame.

Crafted weather segment graphics for morning and noon newscasts to engage viewers. Provided reassurance in severe weather situations while providing needed information for safety.

Responsible for covering news events and stories; this included writing and producing recorded live newscasts for the sister radio stations. Also served as morning show co-host for one of the stations. Developed strong relationships with area leaders. Responsible for all news writing and content for the stations.

KPOM-TV (NBC) | July 1984-September 1985

Responsible for providing news coverage from the Fayetteville bureau of the station. Among the roles combined into this experience were: bureau chief, reporter, writer, videographer, editor.
